Plate packs are formed by laser welding two separate plates flat on top of each other. This heat exchanger model, which is assembled by placing a gasket between each plate package, provides the advantages of the traditional type plate gasketed heat exchanger and can also be easily used in applications where sealing plays a major role.

What is a Wide Spaced Plate Heat Exchanger?

Wide Spacing Plate Heat Exchangers are a specialized heat exchanger solution designed for undissolved solids, high viscosity fluids or dirty media fluids. TANPERA offers a wide range of these heat exchangers from DN25 to DN400 connection diameter. The plate design allows the fluid to travel along a single channel, which increases the fouling resistance of the exchanger and ensures long-term operation.

Unlike conventional plate heat exchangers, wide gap plate heat exchangers have a wider distance between the plates. This design prevents solid particles or high viscosity fluids from accumulating in the heat exchanger channels and reduces maintenance times.

Working Principle

Wide-gap plate heat exchangers are based on the principle that fluids move along a single channel at a constant interval. Thanks to the large distance between the plates, undissolved solids and dense liquids can easily pass through. Special channels on the plate increase the turbulence of the fluid, maximizing heat transfer. This design ensures reliable performance, especially in industries that require continuous production.
